Cross Braced Stool
Vancouver, BC.
Completed 2024
This simple cross braced stool is part of a series of design experiments based on work originally conceived by the Japanese design group KAK in the 1950’s.
The piece uses basic 1x3 and 1x5 boards glued on edge to create larger surfaces, and precisely cut at required angles. The stool provides two heights, one at 10” to serve as a step stool, and when rotated, an alternate 12” height for sitting.
