The lantern follows the intent of the roof top garden where items and components are meant to have an organic and undirected nature.

 

Inspired by the original light fixtures throughout the house where a series of wood pieces were carefully arranged in certain patterns to form shading components, the lantern explodes these pieces in a chaotic manner for light to scape through gaps in the mesh of wood debris. A copper spout extending over the pond provides soothing water sounds to enhance the clam nature of the garden.
