Dining Light
Vancouver, BC.
Completed 2024
The piece follows a few requirements. One: that the light can be easily plugged in (no hardwiring); two: that it can extend out and above a dining table; and three: that the wood members are of standard dimensions with simple woodworking joinery.
The Dining Light fixture is a variation of a wall mounted swing-arm lamp. It allows the light source to be directly above the table while giving character and presence to the base and arm solid wood components.
The fixture has the flexibility to set the light source at three different distances from the wall. The small horizontal pieces over the cantilevered arm can be removed and allow the large shade to be set at the different settings. It uses the EQ3 base plug-in pendant along with the large spherical glass shade.
